The Siege of Tobruk
1941 Cartoons by John Kelly
Here are some cartoons drawn by the late John Kelly of the Royal Artillery during the siege of Tobruk in 1941, and are held in his files at the Imperial War Museum. High art they are not, but as a reflection of the soldier's perspective of life on the front line, and of how humour always manages to get through, they are wonderfully evocative of life on the front line.
